What do I do if my trading terminal charts only show "Waiting for Update"?

This error typically appears when the trading terminal starts up and can be caused by a temporary bandwidth issue or an invalid trading account login.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Ensure you are logged in with a valid trading account. If using MT4, make sure you are logging in with an MT4 account, and likewise for MT5. Check the connection status to verify a successful login.

  • Right-click on the chart window and select "Refresh" to manually update the chart.

  • Drag an instrument from the "Market Watch" window onto the affected chart to see if it updates.

  • If the issue persists, check your internet connection, as an unstable connection may be the cause.
