Why am I getting a "Common error" error?

This error appears in the MetaTrader 4 trading terminal when there is a connection issue between the terminal and the account servers. It may indicate a critically slow or lost connection.

In many cases, the error resolves itself over time. If it persists, follow these troubleshooting steps:

  • Close any charts that appear stuck or display "Waiting for Update" for an extended period.

  • Restart the trading terminal.

  • Check your router connection. Restart the router by turning it off and waiting five minutes before switching it back on.

  • Temporarily disable antivirus software and check if the issue is resolved.

  • Attempt to log in from another PC to determine whether the issue is connection-based.

  • Verify that the correct trading server is selected.

  • Click the connection bar at the bottom right of the trading terminal and select "Rescan Servers" to refresh the connection.

  • If necessary, reinstall the trading terminal and attempt to log in again.
