  • MT4

Market orders: After a stock split, the following changes occur in MT4:

  • Active market orders are closed with zero profit, but commission and swap values remain unchanged.

  • A new order is created with its volume and opening price adjusted according to the split ratio.

  • The order comment will read: "[split reopen from #N]", where N is the pre-split order number.

  • If the new order volume exceeds the platform limit, multiple orders will be created.

  • Opening prices are rounded down for buy orders and rounded up for sell orders.

  • Take Profit and Stop Loss values are set to 0.

Pending orders: All pending orders are cancelled after a stock split.

  • MT5

Market orders: After a stock split, the following changes occur in MT5:

  • Two deals are applied to an existing position. The first deal cancels the position’s result using the same price as the original entry but in the opposite direction. The second deal adjusts the position’s volume and opening price according to the split ratio.

  • Take Profit and Stop Loss values are set to 0.

Pending orders: All pending orders are cancelled after a stock split.
