The MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform is available for Windows desktop, Android, and iOS devices.
Windows
Logging in:
Click File > Login to Trade Account.
Enter your Taurex trading account login, password, and server, then click “Login”.
If successful, you’ll hear a confirmation sound indicating you are now logged in.
Switching accounts:
Click File > Login to Trade Account.
Enter your other trading account’s login details.
Tick Save password to make switching faster in the future.
To switch between previously logged-in accounts, click File > Login to Trade Account and select an account from the dropdown menu.
Adding an instrument:
Right-click on the “Market Watch” window.
Select “Symbols”.
Choose a symbol group and double-click on an instrument to add it.
Click “OK”.
Removing an instrument:
Right-click on the instrument in “Market Watch”.
Click “Hide”.
Opening orders:
There are four ways to open a new order:
Click “New Order” in the toolbar.
Press F9 on your keyboard.
Right-click a trading instrument in “Market Watch” and select “New Order”.
Double-click a trading instrument in “Market Watch”.
In the “New Order” window:
Select your preferred symbol and volume.
Optionally set Stop Loss and Take Profit levels.
Click “Sell by Market” or “Buy by Market” to place the order.
Closing orders:
There are multiple ways to close an order:
Double-click the order in the “Trade” tab and click the “Close By Market” button.
Right-click the order in the “Trade” tab, select “Close Order”, and confirm.
Click the “X” on the right of the order in the “Trade” tab (with One-Click Trading enabled).
Partially closing orders:
Double-click the order in the “Trade” tab to open the “Order” window.
Enter the volume size you want to close.
Click “Close”.
Full Close By:
To fully or partially close a hedged order:
Double-click one of the hedged orders in the “Trade” tab.
Under “Type”, select “Close By”, then select the order you want to close.
Click the “Close” button.
Bulk close orders:
MT5 allows you to close multiple orders at once:
Right-click in the “Trade” tab and select “Bulk Operations”.
Choose from the following options:
Close All Positions: Closes all open positions.
Close Profitable Positions: Closes only positions in profit.
Close Losing Positions: Closes only positions in loss.
Close Sell/Buy Positions: Closes only buy or sell positions.
Close “Symbol” Positions: Closes all positions for a specific instrument.
Close by “Symbol”: Closes hedged positions for a specific instrument using the Close By function.
Pending orders:
MT5 supports six types of pending orders:
Buy Limit
Sell Limit
Buy Stop
Sell Stop
Buy Stop Limit
Sell Stop Limit
To place a pending order:
Click “New Order” in the toolbar or go to Tools > New Order.
Select the symbol and volume, then choose “Pending Order” as the order type.
Set your price, Stop Loss, Take Profit, and expiry date (optional).
Click “Place”.
Modifying or deleting pending orders:
Right-click the pending order in the “Trade” tab.
Click “Modify or Delete”.
Adjust Price, Stop Loss, Take Profit, and Expiry as needed, then click “Modify”.
To delete, click “Delete”.
Android
Logging in:
Download MT5 from the Google Play Store.
Tap Settings > Manage Accounts.
Tap “+” and select Login to an existing account.
Search for Taurex and select “Taurex-Server”.
Enter your trading account number and password, then tap “Login”.
Switching accounts:
Tap “Manage Accounts”.
Select the account you want to log into.
Adding an instrument:
Tap “Quotes”.
Tap “+” and select the instrument from the list.
Removing an instrument:
Tap the pencil icon, then the bin icon.
Select the instrument(s) and confirm removal.
Opening orders:
Go to “Quotes”.
Select a symbol and tap “New Order”.
Set the order parameters (Stop Loss, Take Profit, etc.).
Tap “Buy” or “Sell”.
Closing or modifying orders:
Tap “Trade”.
Select an order and press and hold it.
To modify, tap “Modify position”, adjust the parameters, then tap “Modify”.
To close, tap “Close position” and confirm.
Opening the Journal:
Tap “Journal” in the top-left menu.
Select the dates and tap the email icon to send it to [email protected].
iOS
Logging in:
Download MT5 from the App Store.
Tap Settings > New Account.
Search for Taurex, then select the appropriate trading server.
Enter your trading account number and password, then tap “Sign In”.
Switching accounts:
Open “Settings”.
Tap the arrow next to the displayed account.
Select the desired account from the list.
Adding an instrument:
Tap “Quotes”.
Use the search bar to find instruments.
Tap + to add an instrument.
Removing an instrument:
Tap the pencil icon, select the instrument(s), and tap the bin icon.
Opening orders:
Go to “Quotes”.
Select an instrument and tap “Trade”.
Set the order parameters (volume, Stop Loss, Take Profit, etc.).
Tap “Buy” or “Sell”.
Pending orders:
Open “Trade”.
Select “Pending Order” from the execution type menu.
Set the order volume, price, Stop Loss, Take Profit, and expiry (if applicable).
Closing or modifying orders:
Go to “Trade”.
Select an order and tap “Modify position” to adjust parameters.
To close, tap “Close position”, verify the price, and confirm.
Opening the Journal:
Go to “Settings”.
Tap “Journal” to view session logs.
